About the price

e-Hälsa+MVTe and Framtidens Hälso & Sjukvård will present the ‘Welfare Inspirer of the Year’ award annually.

The 2026 Welfare Inspirer of the Year is an award presented to a person or organisation that has inspired others to get involved and work to improve the welfare of society. This may be a person who has made a significant contribution to the welfare sector through their work, research or community involvement. It may also be an organisation that has carried out a project or campaign which has inspired others to take the initiative to improve welfare.

The criteria for winning the award include the individual or organisation having a strong vision and commitment to improving society’s welfare, having made a significant positive difference within the welfare sector, and having inspired others to follow in their footsteps. The assessment is carried out by a jury comprising experts in the welfare sector, academics and representatives from the business community.

The winner of the Welfare Inspirer of the Year award receives media coverage for their work; the award serves as a way of recognising and honouring individuals and organisations that have made a significant positive difference in the welfare sector and who can inspire others to take the initiative and get involved for the good of society.

Winner of the 2025 Welfare Inspirer of the Year Award: SPF Seniorerna

The jury’s statement

With the Home Care Index, SPF Seniorerna has created a powerful tool for change – one that enhances quality, increases transparency and gives older people a stronger voice in the welfare system. In a short space of time, the index has become widely adopted and is now used by over 100 local authorities in their efforts to improve and compare home care services.

It is an initiative that combines facts, public support and a willingness to change – where civil society leads the way and makes a tangible difference to people’s everyday lives. At the same time, SPF serves as a strong role model for how user organisations can contribute to improved quality and better outcomes in core welfare services.

In recognition of its ability to influence, engage and tangibly improve the development of home care services across the country, SPF Seniorerna has been named Welfare Inspirer of the Year 2025.

The award will be presented at the Kistamässan exhibition centre in Stockholm on 27 January as part of Framtidens Hälso & Sjukvård and e-Hälsa+MVTe 2026 events

There is no physical prize; instead, the award consists entirely of the honour and recognition it brings. But that honour is all the greater for it! The aim of the award is to highlight and celebrate exemplary individuals and organisations who, through their commitment, efforts and vision, contribute to improving the welfare of society and inspire others to do the same.

Registration is open until 16 October

We welcome everyone who is actively working to shape the future of welfare through various forms of support for everyday life, including e-services in general, administration and e-health, amongst other things. We wish to recognise all those who work actively and in a reading-oriented manner to achieve good and equitable health and to strengthen residents’ independence and participation in society.
